Delores C. Moody, 80, Accountant
Delores C. Moody (nee Dettman), 80, of Elyria, died Monday, July 9, 2001 at Community Health Partners Hospital, West following a brief illness.Mrs. Moody was born July 22, 1920 in Ceylon, Minnesota, living in Lorain from 1936-1969. Mrs. Moody lived in Tampa, Florida for 29 years, where she worked for 17 years as an accountant in the Financial Department of the Hillsboro City School Board, retiring in 1985. She returned to Vermilion in 1993. She has been a resident at the Elyria Retirement Center for the past 3 1/2 years. Mrs. Moody was a member of St. Mary Church in Vermilion, and belonged to the churches Bible Study Group.
Survivors include a daughter: Ellen Endrizal of Lorain; sons: Dennis McBride of Fountain Valley, CA, Gerald McBride of San Francisco, CA; stepsons: Lane Moody of Nashville, TN, John Moody of Brandon, FL; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Edward M. "Mickey" Moody in 1991; her parents: Henry and Celia (nee Cook) Dettman; sister: Bernice Sidlo; and brother: Russell Dettman.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church in Vermilion, with the Rev. Ben Ringholc, officiating. Arrangements were handled by the Reidy-Scanlan-Chambers Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway Ave., Lorain.
