George Radman, 86, Graduate of Lorain High School
George Radman, age 86, of Norfolk, Virginia and formerly of Lorain, died Friday, July 13, 2001 in Norfolk, Virginia following a brief illness. He was born February 1, 1915 in Lorain, OH and had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 50 years. He was a graduate of Lorain High School where he was a standout athlete in baseball and basketball. He later played semi-pro baseball in Glenn Falls, New York. He went on to serve as an Ensign in the United States Navy from 1940-1945.Mr. Radman served as an assistant football coach at North Carolina University for a number of years. He was later employed as an automobile salesman in the Norfolk area retiring from the business after a 35-year sales career.
Mr. Radman is survived by his wife of 59 years: Aileen (nee Upton); sons: George "Butch" Radman of Dalton, Pennsylvania; Richard Radman of Wytheville, Virginia; and Kenneth Radman of Norfolk, Virginia; 3 grandsons; and a sister: Olga Stitak of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Anna Radman and by brothers: Steve, Joseph, and John.
All funeral services will be held in Norfolk. Local arrangements are being coordinated by Cluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel-Lorain.
