Joseph "Joey" G. Claudio, 8, Hawthorne Student

He was born on July 24, 1992 in Lorain.

He was a student at Hawthorne Elementary School, where he just completed the 2nd grade.

He was a member of the Church on the North Coast, where he also was a member of the Joshua Kids. He also participated with the House of Praise Youth Group.

He is survived by his parents: Pedro G. Claudio of Lorain, and Daisy Rosa of Lorain, with whom he made his home, 5 sisters: Jennifer Fragoso, Teresa Fragoso, Kayla Fragoso, Jenisa G. Claudio, and Nisa G. Claudio, all of the home, maternal grandparents: Julio Rosa, of Brooklyn, NY and Dora Toro of Lorain, maternal great-grandfather: Julio Rosa Sr., of Puerto Rico, maternal great-grandmother: Rosa Toro of Orlando, FL, paternal grandparents: Leonor Ortiz, of Lorain and Pedro Claudio, of Puerto Rico and paternal great-grandmother: Natividad Ortiz of Lorain.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 21, 2001 from 3-7 p.m. in the Church on the North Coast, 4125 Leavitt Road, Lorain and also on Sunday, July 22, 2001 from 3-7 p.m. in the church. The funeral services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. in the Church on the North Coast. Rev. Louis F. Kayatin, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, Ohio. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain is handling the arrangements.
