Barbara Strapan, 89, Church Member

Barbara Strapan (nee German), 89, of Lorain, died Thursday, July 26, 2001 at Community Health Partners Hospital following a six month illness.

Born on December 18, 1911 in Lorain, she lived here her entire life. During the depression, Barbara worked in Elyria at a stocking factory.

She was a life long member Saints Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, Lorain, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the Aid Association for Lutherans. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening.

Her great niece, Holly Mihok of Amherst, with whom she recently made her home with, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews survive her.

Her husband of 41 years, Michael, died in 1077. Her brothers Andrew German and John German and sisters: Elizabeth Laski and Anna VanSickle preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 29, 2001 from 4-7 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Friends may also call on Monday, July 30, 2001 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church. 1500 Lincoln Blvd., Lorain. Rev. Edgar Anthony, pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
