Minako Thompson, 75, Costume Seamstress
Minako (nee Takahashi) Thompson, 75, of Lorain, died on Sunday, July 29, 2001 at her home in Lorain, Ohio following a brief illness.Mrs. Thompson was born on January 28, 1926 in Kobe, Japan and moved to Lorain in 1966. She had worked as a housekeeper at Ohio Extended Care and was a noted area costume seamstress. She was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan, loved to travel and enjoyed the theater.
She is survived by her husband: Charles E. Thompson; daughter: Penny Gut of Southernton, Ohio; three sons: Charles A. Thompson of Vermilion, Ohio, Elwood Thompson and Timothy Thompson, both of Lorain, Ohio; 6 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by a daughter: Carolyn Thompson on March 5, 1997; and her parents: Masaichi and Tomei Takahashi.
Friends may call at Schwartz, Spence & Boyer Home for Funerals, 1124 West 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio on Wednesday, August 1, 2001 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at Schwartz, Spence & Boyer Home for Funerals in Lorain, Ohio, with Rev. Chris Robinson, chaplain at New Life Hospice, officiating.
Minako Thompson will be buried at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst Township, Ohio.
