Roy T. Rieth, Sr., 68
Roy T. Rieth, Sr., 68, of Lorain, died on Monday, August 27, 2001 at his residence while under the care of New Life Hospice, following a lengthy illness.He was born on April 4, 1933 in Lorain, where he was a lifelong resident.
He served in the United States Army as a Private 1st Class during the Korean Conflict. He earned the National Defense Service Medal.
He was employed as a supervisor in the installers department for Centel Telephone Company for 36 years, retiring in 1991.
He enjoyed fishing, both at home and in the Florida keys, landscaping and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Dolores (nee Scheiber), son: Roy, Jr. of North Ridgeville; daughters: Debra Rieth of Columbia, SC, Kathleen Yurkonis, Amber Ray, and Darlene Trent, all of Lorain; 10 grandchildren; and brother: Gerald Rieth of Lorain.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Helen (nee McDermott) Rieth,
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 31, 2001 from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services at 6:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Tony Witherspoon of the South Congregation of Jehovah's Witness will officiate.
