Yolanda Szabo, 89, Housewife & Mother

Yolanda Szabo (nee Majoras), 89, and a resident of Amherst, passed away September 7, 2001 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home where she had been a patient for less than a day following a four week illness.

Born April 5, 1912 in Lorain where she was raised and lived until moving to Amherst 10 years ago.

Yolanda was a housewife and mother. She was a member of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Lorain.

Survivors include her daughters: Patricia Wolf and Elizabeth Solak, both of Amherst; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years: Louis Szabo in 1985; daughter: Louise Munsterman in 1985; parents: John and Vera (nee Pandy) Majoras; six brothers: Albert, Frank, Julius, John, Edward and Ernest Majoras.

Friends may call Monday, September 10, 2001 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
