James A. Farmer, 77, World War II Veteran

James A. Farmer, 77, of Sheffield Lake died Sunday, September 9, 2001 at his residence following a short illness. He was born May 27, 1924 in Raymond City, West Virginia and moved to Sheffield Lake.

He served in the US Navy during World War II and was employed as a truck driver for Mahoning Trucking. He had previously worked at Freuhauf in Avon Lake. He was a member of the Broadway Assembly of God Church in Lorain and the Freuhauf retirees group.

Mr. Farmer is survived by his wife: Rose Anne Farris Famer (nee Ward) of Lorain; step-daughter: Marlene Mathna of Lorain; sister: Louise Leyton of West Virginia; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son: James Paul Farmer and his parents: Ambrose G. and Willa (nee Hedrick) Farmer.

Graveside services will be held at Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens, Red House, West Virginia on Friday, September 14, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. Local arrangements handled by the BUSCH-BURMEISTER FAMILY CHAPEL, 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Avon Lake.
