Josephine M. Godek, 86, Assembler
Josephine M. Godek (nee Czarnecki), 86, of Lorain died Tuesday, September 18, 2001 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Born November 18, 1914, she was a lifelong resident of the city.Mrs. Godek was emplo9yed at the former Western-Automatic (Stanadyne) as an assembler during World War II.
She is a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain.
Her hobbies included flower gardening, tropical fish, cooking and baking.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Theodore M. Godek of Lorain; daughter: Barbara Wercznski of Lorain; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister: Bernice Kachure of Lorain. She was preceded in death by son: Thomas in 1980; sisters: Mary Czarnecki and Violet Dzoba; brothers: Frank Czarnecki, Louis Czarnecki, Walter Czarnecki, Joseph Czarnecki, and Louis Czarnecki II.
Friends may call Thursday, September 20, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday, September 21, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by her funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 2702 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Kevin Shemuga, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
