Anthony Kalosky, 86, Diesel Mechanic
Anthony Kalosky, age 86, of Lorain, died Monday, October 2, 2001 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph (Lorain) following an extended illness. He was born May 28, 1915 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city.Mr. Kalosky graduated from St. Stanislaus Parish School and went on to attend Lorain High School. He was employed as a diesel mechanic at U.S. Steels Lorain Works retiring in 1968 following 43 years of service.
A parishioner of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church (Elyria Township), he was an accomplished gardener as well as an ardent fan of the Cleveland Indians. Additional interests included bowling, fishing, hunting and skiing.
He was a member of United Steel Workers Local #1101, and was a social member of the Russo-Slav Club (Lorain).
He is survived by his wife of 65 years; Ann (nee Koscho), daughters: Joyce Hammond of Elyria and Carol Daniels of LaConner, Washington, 2 grandchildren, and two great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Judy Daniels in 1972, by his parents: Joseph and Louise (nee Bernatkowicz) Kotolowski, by brothers, Alex, Andrew, John, Joseph, Thomas, and Walter and sisters: Vera Strnad, Mary Labis, and Sr. Mary Irene of the Marymount Sisters.
Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 6, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. James R. Ols, pastor of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church officiating. Entombment will follow in the Resurrection Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery - Lorain.
