Theodore D. Jursinski, 87, Ted's Tree Farm Owner & Operator
Theodore D. Jursinski, 87 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away, Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at his residence following a long illness.Born February 27, 1914 in Lorain where he lived his entire life. Theodore worked in the Rolling Mill Department of US Steel Corp. retiring in 1977 with 42 years of service. He also was owner and operator of Ted's Tree Farm in Elyria for many years.
Theodore was a WWII Army veteran. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Church, Holy Name Society of the church and Elyria United Polish Club, Red Cross Volunteer. He received the Clara Barton Award through the Red Cross in 1976 for outstanding services. Theodore volunteered at St. Andrew's Hot Meal Programs in Elyria, and throughout his life, he took in many foster children. In 1982, through the Ohio Department of Youth Services, he and his wife was awarded special recognition by James Rhodes during the Governors Foster Parents Awards Ceremony in Columbus. He was a participant in the Day Away Program at the Elyria United Methodist Village for several years.
Survivors include his daughter, Judy Reichlin of Elyria, sons, Thaddeus Jurczynski of Port Townsend Washington, 3 grandchildren, brothers, Walter Jurczynski of Lorain, Joseph Jurczynski of Florida, Casimer Jurczynski of Lorain, Andrew Jurczynski of Lorain, sisters, Stella Urban of Cleveland, Helen Walend of Florida and Therese Jurczynski of Amherst Township.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve (nee Jansen) in 1993, parents, Joseph and Mary Jurczynski and brothers, Stanley Jurczynski and John Phillips.
Friends may call Friday, October 12, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway, Lorain. Prayer services will be held Saturday, October 13, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Vincent DePaul Church. The Fr. James R. Ols will be officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria.
