Margaret M. Brooks, 81, Enjoyed Baking and Crocheting
Margaret M. (Vargo) Brooks (nee Matway), 81 years of age, and a resident of Coppell, Texas, passed away, Thursday, October 11, 2001 at Select Special Services in Carrollton, Texas following a lengthy illness.Born March 14, 1920 in Lorain, where she was raised and made her home until moving to South Amherst in 1940. In 1980, she moved from South Amherst to Irving, Texas and has been a resident of Coppell, Texas for the past 3 years.
Margaret was a cook for the South Amherst Schools for 22 years retiring in 1980. She was a member of St. John s United Church of Christ, South Amherst, and Second Baptist Church of Irving, Texas. She enjoyed baking, cooking and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband of 11 years Raymond B. Brooks of Coppell, Texas; her son Mr. James Vargo of North Ridgeville; her daughters Ruth Yuhasz of Amherst, and Patricia Pendleton of Coppell, TX; six grandchilren; 4 great grandchidren; and her sister Pearl McCarthy of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her first husband John Vargo in 1979; her parents Kelm and Amelia (nee: Hazettez) Matway.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 15, 2001 from 1-2 p.m. at Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave. Amherst; where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Paul D. Eaton pastor of St. Johns United Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
