Betty L. Dull, 75, The Von Nay Sisters Singer
Betty L. (nee Vonnay) Dull, 75 of Lorain died on Sunday, October 14, 2001 at Specialty Hospital of Lorain in Lorain following a lengthy illness.Mrs. Dull was born on May 26, 1926 in Tebbits, MO and has lived in the Lorain area since 1946. She graduated from an all girls high school in White Plains, NY.
She was half of the popular singing duet known as the Von Nay Sisters. The Von Nay Sisters was a very well know, award winning duet, entertaining local troops and military personnel during W.W.II. She and her sister also performed with Wood Herman. She was an independent insurance agent. She and her husband owned and operated the Dull's Union Gas Station in Sheffield Village for many years. Mrs. Dull has also been a secretary and office manager. She also worked in the Brooklyn New York Navy Ship Yard in support of the W.W.II effort.
Mrs. Dull is survived by her husband of more than 20 years, Cloyd J. Dull, her son: William Burns of Avon Lake, OH, her three step-daughters, Jackie Bardwell of Cutler, OH, Jeanine Joy of Sheffield Lake, and Virginia Tran of Sheffield Lake, three step-sons, Daniel Dull of Sheffield Village, Mark Dull and Terry Dull both of Loudonville, OH and her sister Dorothy South of Marysville, CA.
She is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Viola (nee Warfield) Von Nay , her son: Jeffrey Burns, and her brother Fredrick Van Noy.
Funeral services were private with Rev. Robert Schroyer, pastor of Open Door church officiating.
Betty L. Dull was buried at Resthaven Memory Garden in Avon, OH.
