Dorothy Beatrice Snow, 70, Seamstress

Dorothy Beatrice Snow (nee Holloway), age 70, of Lorain died Friday, October 19, 2001 at the New Life Hospice of St. Joseph following an extended illness.

She was born January 31, 1931 in Amherst, and had been a resident of Lorain for the past 54 years coming from Penfield Junction.

Mrs. Snow was a 1949 graduate of Clearview High School and was employed by the former Lorain County Bank retiring after fifteen years of service.

She was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church (Lorain), where she served as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the church choir, as well as the coordinator of numerous church functions.

She was a member and past officer of Queen City Chapter #66 - Order of the Eastern Star; she served as Worthy Matron in 1980 and received recognition as a 50 Year-Plus Member. She was also a member of the Salvation Army Kitchen Cuties as well as the Letter Carriers Auxiliary. Her hobbies included quilting and ceramics. She was also an accomplished seamstress who received enjoyment in crafting dolls and teddy bears.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years - Gerald Eugene Snow, sons: Gerald Evan Snow of Houston, Texas, and Keith Earl Snow of Troy, Ohio, a brother: Howard Franklin Holloway of Waco, Texas and sisters Helen Louise Gonda of Grafton and Mary Magdalene Mollohan of Vermilion.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Claude B. and Ora Me. (nee Carter) Holloway.

Friends may call Monday, October 22, 2001 from 2-4 an d7-9 in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain where Eastern Star Services will be conducted by Queen City Chapter #66 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 23, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Darlene Robinson, pastor of Faith United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.

The family suggests memorials in her name to Faith United Methodist Church, 2201 Reid Avenue, Lorain, OH 44052.
