William Bondar, 91, Ford Motor Co. - Supervisor

William Bondar, 91 years of age, and a resident of Amherst passed away, Saturday, October 27, 2001 at St. John West Shore Emergency Room in Westlake following complications from a stroke in April 2001.

He was born October 1910 in Philadelphia PA where he was raised. He moved to Cincinnati in 1945 where he lived till moving to New Jersey in 1955. He has lived in the Lorain County area since 1957.

He attended the Drexel Institute of Technology in Philadelphia, PA for three years. After moving to New Jersey in 1955, he went to work for Ford Motor Co., and was transferred to the Lorain Ford Assembly in 1957 where he worked for 20 years as a supervisor in quality control retiring in 1975. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Amherst and sang in the choir for many years. He enjoyed years with Ford Motor Co. and playing tennis.

Survivors include his sons, Garry M. of Lorain and William of Audubon, New Jersey; daughters, Mrs. Donald (Betty Lee) Muirheid and Mrs. George (Barbara Ann) Hudson, both of Cincinnati, Mrs. Robert (Brenda Jo) Ely of Amherst, and Joan Okulski of Westmont, New Jersey; 23 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and sisters Mary Dudek of St. Petersburg, FL and Vera Lyons of King of Prussia, New Jersey.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Betty F. Bondar on March 22, 2001; his parents, William and Rose (nee Budko) Bondar, and by a sister, Julia Everett in 1986.

Friends may call Monday, October 29, 2001 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Willis Hull, pastor of Faith Baptist church, Amherst, will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Garden, Avon.
