Robert "Bob" L. Brehm, Sr., 75, GM Die Cast Superintendent

He was born on August 16, 1926 in Columbus, Nebraska, moving to Huntington, Ohio at the age of 3. He has lived in the Lorain area since 1958.

He served in the United States Army with the 11th Airborne Division during World War II.

He worked as a superintendent in the die cast department of General Motors, Elyria for 34 years, retiring in 1981.

He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, Lorain. He also was a life member of the Italian American Veterans Post #1, Polish Legion of American Veterans, American Association of Retired People and General Motors Retirees Club.

Bob enjoyed gardening, bowling, golfing, fishing and the great outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 3 years: Rose (nee Dispeza) of Lorain, sons: Robert "Bob" L. Brehm, Jr. of Amherst, Bruce E. Brehm, of Oberlin and step-son: Dennis Flaczynski of Amherst, step daughters: Corrine Carrico of Amherst, Patricia Abfall of New London, Janet Doak of Strongsville, 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, Ann Myers of Seabring FL, Marie Farnsworth of Ashland, Dorothy Barre, of Greenwich, OH and Janet Faur of TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward J. in 1941 and Anna (nee Stoll) in 1973, first wife: Anna Mae Brehm in 1981, 2 brothers, Ed Brehm in 1974, and Al Brehm in 1987, 2 sisters: betty Erswell, in 1991 and Eleanor Szabo in 1994.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 11, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Friends may also call on Monday, November 12, 2001 from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. at Ss Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, 1500 Lincoln Blvd., Lorain, Rev. Edgar Anthony, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
