Warren H. Knox, Sr., 80, Dale Carnegie Leader
Warren H. Knox, Sr., 80 of Clarksfield Twp. and formerly of Avon Lake died Friday, November 9, 2001 at his son's home in Clarksfield following a sudden illness.He was born June 17, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA and moved to his son's home four years ago coming from Avon Lake.
He was a graduate of Hughes High School in Cincinnati where he attended his 50th Class reunion. Warren served in the Coast Guard as a Quartermaster 3rd Class during World War II from 1942 to 1945 and was stationed in Los Angeles and San Francisco. He was employed as a salesman, instructor and associate sponsor of Dale Carnegie Courses in Northern Ohio.
He attended the Clarksfield Untied Methodist Church and was a member of the Rotary Club with perfect attendance for over forty years. He was involved in several clubs in the area and was a group leader for Rotary trips including one to Australia. He loved to travel, volunteer, assist with service club activities and help his family.
Mr. Knox is survived by his wife of 58 years, Geraldine M. (nee Selby); three sons, Dr. Warren H. Knox Jr. of Corpus Christi, TX, Dale C. Knox of North Ridgeville, and John C. Knox of Clarksfield Twp., three daughters: Jeri Lee Knox of North Ridgeville; Nanci P. McGreevy of Elyria and Teri-Lyn Knox of Avon Lake; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick H. Knox, Sr. and Mary Knox (nee Buck); and siblings.
Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake, Tuesday, November 13, 2001 from 4:00 p.m. until time of services at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Greg Rowan of Clarksfield United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will take place at the Oakwood Memorial Park in Santa Cruz California on Thursday, November 15, 2001.
