Marie Elizabeth Jones, 79, Secretary

Born June 2, 1922 in Elyria, where she was raised until age 14. She has remained a resident of South Amherst since 1936.

Marie worked for Bendix Westinghouse for 27 years retiring in 1979 as a secretary. She was a member of South Amherst First United Methodist Church where she participated in the Women's Society, choir and served as board chairperson, a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars, Stone City Chapter #325 for 50 years where she served as pastworthy matron.

Survivors include her son William D. Jones of Bowling Green; her daughter Pamela Pollack of Oberlin, 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and her sister, Wilma Sharpe of Lancaster, PA.

Friends may call Sunday, November 18, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 19, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Gary L. Lunsford, pastor of South Amherst First Untied Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
