Robert A. Zaleski, 43, Equipment Operator
Robert A. Zaleski, age 43 of Lorain died Thursday, November 15, 2001 at University Hospitals of Cleveland following a three year battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.He was born November 17,1 957 in Lorain and was a life-long resident of the city. Mr. Zaleski attended St. John Parish School and was a 1975 graduate of Lorain Southview High School where he played on the varsity football team.
He had been employed as an equipment operator for the Lorain County Engineer since 1984. He had previously been employed as a laborer by Conrail.
He was an avid fan of professional wrestling and professional football. He had formerly been active playing softball in the Lorain City League.
He is survived by a daughter: Brandie Zaleski of Elyria, a son: Adam Zaleski of Lorain, step-sons: Greg Yontack of Louisville, KY and Ryan Martin of Lorain, his mother: Connie (nee Evans) Zaleski of Lorain, and by brothers: Jerry of Sheffield Village and Donald of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his father: John Zaleski in 1997.
Friends may call Sunday, November 18, 2001 from 4-7 in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 19, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Thomas Smith, pastor of St. John Roman Catholic church officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
