Catherine "Kay" Visci, 81, Secretary
Catherine "Kay" Visci (nee Brelich), age 81, of Lorain, died Sunday, November 18, 2001 at the New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph (Lorain) following a brief illness. She was born March 31, 1920 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city.Mrs. Visci attended Lorain High School. She was employed as a secretary and monitor by the Lorain City Schools for many years retiring in 1981.
She was an active parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (Lorain) where she was a member of the Paduan Travelers, the Quilting Club, and was a former member of the Marian Guild.
She was an accomplished seamstress and a talented cook who was well known for her spaghetti recipe. Additional interests include big band music, dancing, reading (especially novels) and working crossword puzzles.
Survivors include daughters: Lori McIlwaine of Elyria Township and Anita Spacek of Medina, 3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Carl Visci, Sr. in May of this year, her son: Carl Visci, Jr. in 1995, her parents Peter and Anna (nee Kostick) Brelich, sister: Anna Brelich, half-sister: Mary Carrico, brothers, Michael, Joseph, and John and a half brother: Frank Lutsak.
Friends may call Tuesday, November 20, 2001 from 4-8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 21, 2001 beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by her funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Cahtolic Church, 1305 East Erie Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Joseph West, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
The family suggests memorials in her memory to the Sisters of Notre Dame Retirement Fund, 13000 Auburn Road, Chardon, OH 44024 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
