Jean Knieriemen, 77
Jean Knieriemen (nee: Curlis), 77 of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Monday, November 19, 2001 at the Cleveland Clinic after a lengthy illness.Born February 20, 1924 in Sycamore, OH where she was raised moving to California in 1944 with her husband in the military and then back to Ohio in 1945. She has lived in Amherst for the past 46 years.
Jean was a housewife and mother and a member of Amherst Congregational United church of Christ where she participated in their Mary Martha's fellowship. She enjoyed flower arranging and crafts.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Lorin G. Knieriemen; sons: Jeffery N. Knieriemen of Lutz FL and Dale A. Knieriemen of Ft. Lenoardwood, MO; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary (nee Oder) Curlis; her brother Neil Gregg; and her sister Blanche Ames.
Friends may call Wednesday, November 21, 2001 from 2 -4 and 7 to 9 at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 23, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Attilia Szernesi, pastor of Amherst Congregational United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, OH.
