Keith P. Wiedl, 57, Information & Technology Specialist
Keith Paul Wiedl, 57, of Avon Lake, passed away Tuesday, November 27 at St. John & West Shore Hospital, Westlake following a short illness.He was born August 30, 1944 in Harrison Twp., Pennsylvania and moved to Avon Lake in 1990 coming from South Euclid and Pittsburgh areas. Keith was a graduate of St. Vincent College, Latrobe, Pennsylvania majoring in mathematics. He was also a US Army veteran serving as a Sgt. In the infantry in active service in Vietnam from 1967-1969.
He began his career with Jones & Laughlin Steel in Pennsylvania and was transferred to Cleveland, where he was employed by LTV Steel as an information and technology specialist. While in South Euclid he served as a deacon at the Euclid Avenue Christian Church in Cleveland Heights. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and his children.
Mr. Wiedl is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barbar (nee Benz); three sons, Michael (Nanette) of North Ridgeville, Daniel of Willoughby and David, a student at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his mother, Kathleen Virginia Miller (nee Bain) of Freeport, Pennsylvania; a brother, Larry (Diana) of Freeport, Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Joseph Wiedl.
Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, November 30, 2001. Services will be held at the funeral home, Saturday, December 1, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Thomas C. Robinson, pastor of Avon Lake Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
