Ruby Green, 74, Enjoyed Gardening & Collecting Angels

Ruby Green (nee: Buchanan), 74 years of age, and a former resident of Amherst, passed away Tuesday evening, November 27, 2001 at EMH Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born October 12, 1927 in Barberville, KY, where she was raised. Prior to moving to Lorain 3 years ago, Amherst was her home since 1957.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and collecting angels.

Survivors include her sons Jerry Wayne, John C., Benjamin M., William P., and Ronald L. Green all of Lorain, James Harold of Barberville, KY, Alford E. of Clarksville, OH, Jeff of Oberlin, and Gregory S. of Amherst; her daughter Terry L. Radford of Lorain, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, her brothers Frank Buchanan of Lorain and Dee Buchanan of KY; and her sisters Belle Golden of Amherst, Mae Spoonamore of Elyria, Liddy Hembree and Gertie Campbell, both of KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, James Andrew Green in 1987; her parents, Charles and Gracie (nee Logan) Buchanan; by her brothers Bud and Bill Green; and by her sisters Dorothy and Mosses.

Friends may call Thursday, November 29, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 30, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Freeman, pastor of Free Pentecostal Church of South Amherst will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
