Elizabeth M. Oleksa, 86, Enjoyed Cooking & Baking

Elizabeth Mary Oleksa (nee Mandoki), age 86, of Lorain died Saturday, December 1, 2001 at the Specialty Hospital of Lorain following a one month illness. She was born June 9, 1915 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city.

A former assembler at General Industries in Elyria, she was a parishioner of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church (Lorain). Her hobbies included cooking, baking and reading.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra J. Bobek of Lorain, by her sons: Gerald J. Oleksa of Elyria and John A. Oleksa of Lorain as well as 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: John J. Oleksa in 1981 by her son: Richard K. Oleksa in 1999 her parents: Joseph Mandoki and Elizabeth (nee Kalo) Mandoki-Dennes and by brothers: Charles and Joseph Mandoki.

Private family services will be held Monday in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. The Rev. Patrick Shields, administrator of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. A memorial mass will be scheduled at a later date.
