Mary Louise Horan, 82, Enjoyed Golf

Mary Louise Horan (nee Romp), 82, of Avon Lake, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2001 at the Normandy Manor in Rocky River following a short illness.

She was born April 18, 1919 in Cleveland and lived in Avon Lake most of her adult life. She was a graduate of John Marshall High School in Cleveland and attended a secretarial business school.

During World War II she served in the U. S. Marine Corp. Mrs. Horan was employed as a starter at Sweetbriar Golf Course in Avon Lake for the ladies leagues for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Avon Lake and enjoyed golf as well as other sports.

Mrs. Horan is survived by a daughter, Eileen Juratovac (James) of Olmsted Falls, two sons: Tom Horan (Becky) of Dayton, and Dennis Horan (Noreen) of Strongsville, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond T. (1975), a son, Patrick Horan (1990); a sister, Betty O'Neil and her parents Edward and Wanda (nee Wise) Romp.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Road, Avon Lake, Friday, December 7, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Timothy J. O'Connor, pastor of St. Joseph Church will officiate. Committal Services will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park following the Mass. Cremation by Busch Crematory.
