Robert E. Bryan, 71, Electronic Engineer
Robert E. Bryan, 71, of Amherst, died Tuesday, December 4, 2001, morning at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria following a sudden illness.Mr. Bryan was born February 7, 1930 in Lorain and was a life long resident of the area.
He graduated from Lorain High School Class of 1948 A.
He attended Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea and Fenn College in Cleveland.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from February 11, 1948 to February 20, 1954.
He was employed as an Electronic Engineer at N.A.S.A., in Brookpark from 1954 until his retirement in 1984. He worked from 1984 to 1998 at Analex Inc. in Cleveland.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst. He was a social member of the American Slovak Club, IAV Post #1, both in Lorain and the Amherst Eagles.
He enjoyed spending time with his 2 granddaughters and traveling. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing golf with his friend from Vermilion Country Club and fox Creek Country Club.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Dolores (nee Costantino), daughters: Leah Sharkey, and Beth (Steven) Mastroianni both of Cleveland, grandchildren: Frances Cora and Antonia Marceila, sister, Mrs. Raymond (Judith) LeMasters of Vermilion, fond and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chaimers and Cora Bryan.
Friends may call at the Reidy-Scanlan-Chambers Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway Ave., Lorain on Thursday, December 6, 2001 from 4-8 p.m. Services will be held Friday, December 7, 2001 at 10:20 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 11:00 a.m. mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst with the Rev. Lawrence Martello pastor officiating.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
