Tamie J. Maccombs, 38, Accounts Payable Clerk

Tamie J. Maccombs, age 38, of Elyria died Tuesday, December 4, 2001 at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation following a lengthy illness. She was born June 11, 1963 in Elyria and had been a resident of Lorain County for most of her life.

She was a 1981 graduate of Elyria West High School where she played the flute in the Wolverine Marching Band. For the past five years she had been employed as an accounts payable clerk for the Eaton Corporation of Cleveland. She had previously served for 20 years in the same capacity for the J.C. Penney Company's Midway Mall store.

A member of First United Methodist Church (Elyria), she was a fan of all spectator sports and was regarded as a talented crafter who enjoyed needlepoint, counted cross stitch, ceramics, and making jewelry. Additional interests included attending country and western concerts and shopping.

Survivors include her parents: Gerald and Virginia (nee Mroski) Maccombs of Elyria Township, sisters: Deborah Hartzel of Lake Orion, MI and Shelly-Michele Pavlich of Dayton, along with 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Stanley and Anna (nee Czech) Mroski, and by paternal grandparents: Porter and Addie (nee Hankieson) Maccombs.

Friends may call Friday, December 7, 2001 from 2-4 an d7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 8, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Dr. Henry W. Bruner, Assistant Pastor of First United Methodist Church (Elyria) officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
