George Dudukovich, 66, Air Force Veteran
George Dudukovich, died Friday, December 7, 2001, at his residence, following a lengthy illness.He served in the United States Air Force from 1952 until 1956. He received the National Defense Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was employed at the Lorain Parks Department for 22 years, retiring in Sepetember 1996.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Lorain, where he was a former member of the St. Nicholas Holy Name Society. He also was a member of the United Steelworkers Union Local #6621 and the Public Employees Retirement Group.
He enjoyed sports, fishing, gardening and listening to country music.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Marie (nee Montelon), daughters: Denise Kish, of Grafton, Nora Shelar, of Avon Lake, Anne Vidrick, of Powell, son: Allen of Lorain, 6 grandchildren, brothers: Peter Dukich, of California, Milan, of Avon, John and Joe, both of Lorain, sisters: Jenny Varbanoff of Lorain and Cecelia Rancour, of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Nick and Mary (nee Shalota) Dudukovich, brothers: Nick and Rudy, sisters: Anna Milovich, Mary Gonzales and Louise Augustine.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 10, 2001 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m., where a parastas service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. at St Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. James Batcha, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetary, Lorain. Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter #20 will conduct full military honors.
