Richard E. "Rich" Zseberan Sr., 54, Electrical Engineer

Richard E. “Rich” Zseberan, Sr., 54, of Avon lake, passed away, Friday, December 7, 2001 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria following a six year illness.

He was born October 20, 1947 in Berea and moved to Avon Lake from Berea 27 years ago. He was employed as an Electrical Engineer for Sectional Stamping in Wellington, retiring in 1997.

Rich coached Little League Baseball and CYO Basketball, was the Avon Lake Band Boosters President in 1993, 1994 and 1995 was a certified Rifle and Gun Instructor, cooked chicken dinners for St. Joseph Church Carnival in Avon Lake for over 20 years, was a representative of the Kidney Foundation of Ohio Board, and was a counselor for L.C.A.D.A. (Lorain County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services). He enjoyed boating and fishing, hunting and golfing.

Mr. Zseberan is survived by his wife of 27 years, Barbara (nee Karnas); a daughter, Eileen Lane of Avon Lake, a son, Rick (Richard Jr.) of Avon Lake, two grandchildren, Andrew and Noelle Lane, a sister: Brenda Zseberan of Brooklyn and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Elaine I. (nee Cosgrove) Zseberan.

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Beldon Road, Avon Lake, OH from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2001. Services will be held at the funeral home Monday, December 10th at 10:00 a.m. Rev. John R. Butchko, pastor of Avon United Methodist Church will officiate.

Cremation by Busch Crematory will follow services.
