Leamon Chitwood, 54, Foundry Worker
Died on Saturday at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.Leamon was born in Oneida Tennessee, he had lived in Birmingham and South Amherst before moving to Lorain 3 years ago.
He was employed as a foundry worker at Sterling Foundry for over 10 years, prior to this, he worked at MA Harrison Manufacturing.
He enjoyed watching westerns on television, camping, hunting, and bird watching.
He is survived by his brothers: Don Chitwood, of Lorain, Bobby Chitwood, Pete Chitwood, both of Oneida, TN, Eddie Chitwood, of Lorain, Johnny Burke, of Oneida, TN, and Milford Chitwood, of Oneida, TN, sisters: Gerty Bowling, of Oneidda, TN and Rita Fay Lay, of Nashville, TN.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Laura Bell (nee West) Chitwood, and brother: Gurstle Chitwood.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 10, 2001 from 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, Ohio, where services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Rev. Howard Carroll, pastor of Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church, Lorain, will officiate. Funeral services and burial will be in Oneida, Tennessee.
