Mary M. Kitka, 86, Disaster Relief Volunteer

Mary M. Kitka, (nee Bartok), died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.

Born in Hungary, she lived in Castalia, OH, before moving to Lorain many years ago.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Keenagers, Jolly 60's, Grandmother's Club, and the Women of the Moose #167, Lorain.

She had worked as a security guard for Lane Bryant dept. store in Midway Mall, Elyria. She was a volunteer with many aspects of the American Red Cross including disaster relief work. She enjoyed traveling with the Women of the Moose, gardening and knitting.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Jr., of Lorain, a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Pajor, of Vermilion, 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, a brother, Frank Bartok, of Lorain, and a sister, Helen Bartok, of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Kitka, in 1974, and her parents, Frank and Barbara Bartok.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Dec. 18th, from 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where services will be Wednesday, Dec. 19th, at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Funeral mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Lorain. Rev. David A. Novak, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
