Charles Arden Anderson, 81, Air Force Veteran
Charles Arden Anderson, a resident of Amherst, passed away Monday morning, December 17, 2001 at his home following a two year illness.Born March 6, 1920, in Arden, West Virginia, he was raised in West Virginia. He moved to Lorain in 1950 and has been a resident of Amherst for the last 17 years.
He served in the US Air Force during World War II. He was employed by Ohio Edison for 27 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator and Foreman, retiring in 1982. Charles was a member of New Apostolic Church in Lorain since 1958. He enjoyed gardening and being outdoors.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Mary Arlene (nee Kasper) Anderson; a son Jason Carver at home; a brother Harold Anderson of Worthington, WVA; and by sisters Mildred Cain and Leona Murphy, both of Worhtington, WVA. He was preceded in death by his first wife Jane Anderson (nee Schnieder) in 1983; and his parents Charles and Leona (nee Sawyer) Anderson.
Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave.; Amherst and Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at New Apostolic Church; 3929 Leavitt Rd.; Lorain. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. following the calling hours, from the church. Private burial will be in Camden Cemetery, Kipton.
