Mary Sukalac, 90, Secretary

Mary Sukalac (nee Fush) age 90, of Lorain died December 18, 1999 in Allendale, NJ after an illness of 2 years. At the time of death, Mary donated her body for scientific research at the New Jersey University of Medicine.

Mary was born on May 3, 1909 in Lorain and resided her entire life before moving to New Jersey in 1997. She was a seamstress, and worked for Richmond Brothers prior to 1941. She also assisted her husband as a secretary in his various businesses. While in Lorain, she was a member of the Church of St. Peter, AARP, Grandmothers Club and was a Red Cross Volunteer. She enjoyed card playing and puzzles.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Joan Eiben, of Ridgewood, NJ; son, Jack Sukalac of Seattle WA, 3 grandchildren, 3 sisters: Gazella Seng, of Zephyrhills, FL, Rose Cornsweet, of Hollywood, CA, Katherine Paul, of Elyria; and 2 brothers: Steve Fush, of Lorain, and Fr. John Paul Fush, of Vina, CA.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, John R. Sukalac, in 1978; parents, Steve and Katie (nee Matun) Fush; 2 sisters: Anna Ploskunak and Regina Garcia; and brother: John Fush.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, July 7, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Michael Williamson, associate pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue Lorain is handling the arrangements.
