Mary Lois Worcester, 68, Sunday School Teacher
Mary Lois Worcester (nee: Hilder), 68 years of age, and a resident of Elyria, passed away Thursday, December r20, 2001 at New Life Hospice Resident Center after a lengthy illness.Born April 27, 1933 in Zanesville, OH , she has been a resident of Elyria for the past 48 years.
Mary was a housewife and mother volunteering as a den mother and scout mother. She was a founding member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She was part of the Southern Baptist effort for church planting in this area. Church and family were her life. Mary enjoyed camping and crafts.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Rowland "Bud" A Worcester, her son, Mr. Michael J. Worcester of Cedarpark, TX, her daughters, Rev. Rebekah Schultheiss of Fairfield, OH, Debra Bailey of Oberlin and Patricia Ann Rhoadarmer of Carol Stream, IL; 12 grandchildren, her sisters: Edith Freymeyer of Gulf Breeze, FL, Martha McDonald of Seminole, FL, Rose Carbiener of Broken Arrow, OK, Ann Palmer of Olmsted Twp., OH and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Helen (nee: Paulick) Hilder; her brother Benjamin Hilder, Jr., and her sister Helen Ruth Clice.
Friends may call Thursday, December 27, 2001 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Rick Martin, pastor of Good Shepherd Baptist will officiate. Burial will be in Fields Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
