Raymond J. Reichert, 88, U.S. Steelworker

Raymond J. Reichert, 88, of Lorain, died Friday, December 21, 2001 at Adult Care by Sandy in Lorain following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Reichert was born January 14,1 913 in Lorain, and was a life long resident.

He was a graduate of St. Mary High School in Lorain, where he served as captain of the football team.

He was an U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.

Mr. Reichert retired from U.S. Steel after 40 years of service.

He was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include step-grandchildren: Catherine Carver, Raymond and Dennis Kershaw, many step great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Alice J. (nee Johnson), 1993, and his parents John and Mary Reichert, and brothers Clarence and Edwards Reichert.

Friends may call at the Reidy-Scanlan-Chambers Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway Ave., Lorain on Thursday, December 27, 2001 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 12:00 Noon mass at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel O. Divis, Pastor officiating.

Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

Full military honors will be conducted by the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter #20, Lorain.
