Nereida Sepulveda, 50, Head Start Teacher
Nereida "Neddi" Sepulveda, 50 of Lorain died Wednesday, December 26, 2001 in her home following a brief illness.She was born March 1, 1951 in Lorain. She moved to Torrance, California in 1985 where she lived ten years. She returned home in 1995.
Ms. Sepulveda graduated from Lorain High School in 1969. She received her Associated degree in Elementary Education from Lorain County Community College. She taught in the Head Start Program in Lorain for the past six years.
She was an active member of the Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, where she taught catechism classes. She belonged to the Crucillo Movement and youth groups. . She was a volunteer on the churches Fiestas Patronales and Fiftieth Anniversary Committees. She was an assistant treasurer of the Sacred Heart Chapel Credit Union, Lorain. She was also a member of the SEIU #1199. She enjoyed reading and arts and crafts.
Among the survivors are her parents Julio and Rufina (nee Estrada) Sepulveda, Sr.; brother Angel L. Sepulveda of Lorain; sister Nancy Reyes of Lorain; six nephews, three Nieces, two Great-nephews, and 3 Great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her brother Julio Sepulveda, Jr. in 1993.
Friends may call Friday 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio. Funeral will be Saturday 8:45 AM with closing prayers in the funeral home followed by 9:30 AM Mass of the Resurrection in Sacred heart Chapel 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
