Charles L. Robbins Jr., 72, Little League Coach

Charles L. Robbins Jr., of Lorain died Thursday in the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Robbins was born on November 21, 1929 and has been a lifetime resident of Lorain. He retired from being a Quality Control Inspector in 1987 after 28 years. He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain, a driver for the Meals on Wheels Program there. He was a past member of the Ohio National Guard, The Eagles Club, and The Knights of St. John. He enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball, bowling, and being an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians.

Mr. Robbins is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy (nee Haly) Robbins; his sons Mark Robbins, of Lorain and Jason Robbins of Avon, OH; a daughter Judy Wilshire, of Sheffield Lake, OH and 6 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Dorothy (Wallace) Robbins; and his sister Doris Hope.

Visitation was Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home 2920 Broadway, Lorain, OH. Funeral services were Monday, December 31, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Linwood Chamberlain Jr. officiating.
