Walter J. Jurczynski, 89, Wally's Welding Owner
Walter J. Jurczynski, of Lorain, died Sunday, December 30, 2001, at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a brief illness.Born February 4, 1912 in Lorain, he was a lifelong resident there.
He was the owner and general contractor for Wally's Welding in Lorain providing welding, building and landscaping services. Walter had also worked at National Tube Co., Lorain, for 9 years, at Brush Beryllium Co., Lorain, for 7 years, and at Ferguson NASA.
He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Lorain, the parish Holy Name Society, and the United Polish Club of Lorain.
He enjoyed gardening, traveling, working, and dancing the polka.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Stella A. (nee Dudzic), 3 sons, Robert Jursinski, of Vermilion, Richard Jurczynski, and Walter JUrczynski Jr., both of Lorain, 2 daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Hoffman, of Huron, and Mrs. Susan Dziubek of Amherst, 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, 2 brothers, Josef Jurczynski, of Mulberry, Florida, Andrew Jurczynski, of Lorain, 3 sisters, Mrs. Stella Urban, of Lakewood, Mrs. Helen Walend, of Sonoma, California, and Theresa Jurczynski, of Amherst Township.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Jurczynski, in 1935, his mother, Mary Jurczynski (nee Phillips), in 1985, his brothers, John Phillips, in 1971, Stanley Jurczynski, Theodore Jursinski, in 2001, and Casimer Jursinski, in 2001.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 2, 2002 from 3-7 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be Thursday, January 3, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. followed by mass at 9:30 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th St., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Robert Glepko, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
