Therill P. Cochran, 77, Chemical Operator

He was born on January 2, 1925 in Diana, West Virginia, moving to Lorain in 1948.

He served under General Patton with the 1st armored division in the United States Army during World War II in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. He also served during the Korean War stationed on Okinawa.

He was employed as a chemical operator at B.F. Goodrich for 31 years, retiring in 1984.

Mr. Cochran was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, and the Holy Name Society. He was also a member and past director of the Polish American Citizens Club, Lorain and member and had served on the committee for the Lorain County Democratic Party.

He was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his 3 sons: Greg, Doug and John all of Lorain, 3 daughters, Micki Cochran of Elyria, Thyra Cochran and Pam Collins, both of Lorain, and 3 grandchildren, sisters, Virginia Hicks, of Oak Hills, West Virginia, and Maxine Cool, of Mossy, West Virginia, brothers, Lawrence, of Mt. Hope, West Virginia and Roy of Lorain.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Joan (nee Darmafall) in 1989, parents: Lawrence and Blanche (nee Arthur) Cochran, a sister, Pauline Cutlip, and a brother Denzil.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 13, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 14th at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a 11:00 a.m. mass at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Chuck Henkle, associate pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

The American Legion Post 30 of Lorain will conduct military honors.
