Barbara M. Andrews, 73, Gorants Clerk

Barbara M. Andrews (nee McLaughlin) of Avon Lake, formerly of Pleasant Hills, PA, passed away, Saturday, January 12, at St. John West Shore Hospital, following complications of pneumonia. Mrs. Andrews was born May 11, 1928 in Fredrickstown, PA and has lived in Avon Lake, for the past 34 years. She was a 1946 graduate of Baldwin High School, Pleasant Hills.

Mrs. Andrews worked for over 10 years as a sales clerk with Gorants Candies in the Promenade Shopping Center, Westlake. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed golfing and gardening.

Her husband Raymond G. whom she married August 28, 1948, passed away March 7, 2000. She is survived by her mother, Bertha McLaughlin (nee Walters) of Washington, PA, her sister Gayle Tarr of Washington, PA and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her father John H. McLaughlin.

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Avon Lake from 4:00 -9:00 p.m. Monday, January 14. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home, Monday at 8 p.m. Fr. Stephen Shields of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Sheffield Lake will officiate. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, in the West Bend Cemetery, East Millsboro, PA.
