Charles B. Younggren, 69, 20 Year Air Force Veteran
Charles B. Younggren, died Sunday, January 13, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital, West, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.Born October 8, 1922 in Bowstring, Minnesota, he was a resident of Lorain for the past 10 years. He previously resided in Phoenix, AZ and Minnesota.
Charles served in the US Air Force from February 1951 until February of 1971. A 20-year veteran, he retired with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He is survived by his friend and companion for 3 years: Liz Compton and 1 brother: Loyal of Bloomington, Minnesota.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy (nee Carlson) Younggren in 1996; parents: Evald and Svea (nee Hedquist) Younggren; and 3 brothers: Herbie, Wayne, and Merlin.
Rev. Laurie Miller, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, officiated at the private graveside services held in Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst of Friday, January 18, 2002 The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, handled the arrangements.
