Dolores Mae Giran, 62, Lorain High Graduate

Dolores Mae Giran (nee Csubak) died Monday January 14, 2002 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following an extended illness. She was born April 18, 1939 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident, graduating from Lorain High School.

Mrs. Giran was employed as an assembler with Phoenix Products of Avon Lake for three years. She had previously been employed for 22 years in the payroll and cost accounting department of TRW's Nelson Stud Welding Division.

A parishioner of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church (Lorain) she was formerly active with the Lorain Democratic Women's Party. Her hobbies included ceramic painting, reading (especially works by Nora Roberts), and playing bingo. She was also an accomplished bowler who participated in the Lorain City Hall and Kings and Queens Leagues at Rebman's Recreation.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years: Richard "Rich", a daughter: Laura Giran of Lorain, sister: Kathleen Yepko of Lorain, brother: Frank A. Csubak of Lorain, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father: Frank Csubak in 1988, her mother: Helen (nee Oleska) Csubak in 1989, and infant sisters: Carol and Patricia Csubak.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway - Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by her funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ladislaus Catholic Church - 1412 East 29th Street- Lorain. The Rev. Patrick Shields, parish administrator will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery - Lorain.
