Ronald D. Burdette, Sr., 66, Job Setter

Ronald D. Burdette, Sr., 66 years of age, and a resident of Elyria, passed away Tuesday morning, January 15, 2002 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria after a long illness.

He was born September 27, 1935 in Nallen, West Virginia and has been a resident of Elyria for 49 years.

He was employed as a job setter at Ford Motor in Brookpark for 40 years retiring in 1995. He was a member of the North Olmsted Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, and a former member of Untied Auto Workers, Local #1250. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time at his cabin in West Virginia.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Dawn (nee Ridger) Burdette; sons, Edward, Arield, and Ronald Jr. Burdette, all of Elyria and Ted Burdette of West Virginia; daughters, Denise Hamulak of Amherst, Diane Burdette and Ginny Sherrad, both of Elyria; eight grandchildren; brothers, Jack Burdette of West Virginia and Bob Burdette of Elyria; and sister Fred Cook of Elyria.

He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Burdette in 1995; and by his parents, Theodore and Reva (nee Dorsey) Burdette.

Friends may call Friday, January 18, 2002 at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home, 213 Main Street, Rainelle, West Virginia 25962. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home with burial to follow in West Virginia.

Local arrangements are being handled by Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst.
