Mary B. Deliman, 85, Accomplished Cook

Mary B. Deliman (nee Barbuscak), of Lorain, died Tuesday January 22, 2002 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born April 23, 1916 in Wilpen, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Lorain since childhood.

An active parishioner of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, she was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society as well as its Ladies Association. She was a dedicated volunteer at all church functions and especially enjoyed her work in the church kitchen. A member of the Greek Catholic Branch # 125, she was an accomplished cook and a skilled baker. She also enjoyed crocheting.

Survivors include her son: Dr. Joseph Deliman of Lorain, a daughter: Jean Andorka of Bay Village, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a brother: Michael Barbuscak of Lorain, and sisters: Ann Tishhko of Richmond heights, and Kay Haller & Julie Bransztet both of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph J. Deliman in 1974, and by a brother: Joseph Barbuscak in 1994.

Friends may call Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway - Lorain where a rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m. by members of the St. Nicholas Altar and Rosary Society and a Parastas services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by a Divine Liturgy at 11:00 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church - 2711 west Street - Lorain. The Rev. James Batcha, pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery- Lorain.
