Dorothy M. Eichler, 78, Foodservice Supervisor
Dorothy M. Eichler (nee Petters), 78 of Avon Lake died Wednesday, January 23, 2002 in New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph, Lorain following a lengthy illness.She was born November 4, 1923 in Buffalo, New York. She moved to Vermilion in 1971 then to Avon Lake in 1982.
Mrs. Eichler was employed as a Foodservice Supervisor for the University of Buffalo and Erie County Community College for 20 Years.
She served in the Navy in World War Two.
Among the survivors are her sons David V. Honey of Avon Lake, Richard M. Eichler, Jr. of Lorain and Daniel F. Eichler of Elyria; sisters Lois Maving of Buffalo, New York and Carol Kulikowski of Batavia, New York; five Grandchildren and three Great
Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard M. Eichler, Sr. and her parents Frank and Florence (nee Cavanah) Petters.
Friends may call Friday, February 1, 2002, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio.
Funeral service will be Saturday, February 2, 2002 9:00 AM in the funeral home followed by 9:30 AM Mass in Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Homewood Drive and Route 57 (Grove) Avenue, Lorain with the Rev. Thomas R. Smith, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
