Dr. Leonard R. Pratsch, 91, Optometrist

Dr. Leonard R. Pratsch, 91, of Lorain, died Friday, January 25, 2002 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Center, following a lengthy illness.

He was born on September 28, 1910 in Lorain and was a life long resident.

He was self-employed as an optometrist for 43 years retiring in 1978.

Dr. Pratsch was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Lorain. He was a member of the Church Board, Choir, and Men's Club, Sunday School Teacher, Lorain Lions Club, Senior Fellowship, Black River Historical Society, Black River Geneology Society, and Knights of Pythias Lodge.

He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed golf, bowling and woodworking.

Survivors include his son, Lew W. Pratsch of Alexandria, VA, daughters, Jane Herrmann of Damascus, Maryland, Mary Lynn Schneider of Vermilion, OH, 5 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and sister, Katherine Nuhn of Helena, OH.

He was preceded in death by his wife Irene (nee Weiler) in 1989.

Friends may call Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway, Lorain from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2002. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Sprite Johnson, pastor officiating.

Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
