Frank S. Fischer, 68, Moen Designer

Frank S. Fischer, 68 of Lorain died Saturday, January 26, 2002 in New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph, Lorain following a lengthy illness.

He was born January 3, 1934 in Lorain. He was a lifelong resident of Lorain. He graduated from Clearview High School with the class of 1952.

Mr. Fischer retired in 1995 from Moen Corporation in Elyria, as a Designer. He worked there for 22 years.

He served in the Korean War in the U. S. Army as a Specialist 1st Class in Korea where he earned the Korean SVC Metal, ROK presidential unit citation and Good Conduct Metal.

Mr. Fischer was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Lorain. He was also a member of American Legion Post #20, Lorain. He enjoyed fishing and his family.

Among the survivors is his wife of 43 years Mary Jean Fischer (nee Kordeleski); son Edward Fischer of Alice Springs, Australia; daughters Laura Gray of Coudersport, Pennsylvania, Sharon Harp pf Elyria, Ohio, Sue Wickline of Amherst, Ohio and Sandra Fischer of Crystal River, Florida; his mother Anna R. Fischer (nee Futo) seven Grandchildren; sisters June Kimbrough of Lorain, Ohio, Nancy Dubesa of Grafton, Ohio, Marian Cordy of Bellaire, Ohio, Loretta Hoyt of Geneva, Ohio and Elizabeth Nunez of Wellington, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his father Frank A. Fischer in 1965.

Friends may call Monday, January 28th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio. Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 29th at 9:30 AM in the funeral home followed by 10:00 AM Mass in Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Homewood Drive and Route 57 (Grove) Avenue, Lorain with the Rev. Thomas R. Smith, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain, where the Disabled American Veterans, Louis Paul Proy, Chapter 20, Lorain will conduct military honors.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Saint John Endowment Fund, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain, Ohio 44055.
