James Jessel, 67, Enjoyed Boating

James Jessel, of Fremont, Ohio, formerly of Lorain and Elyria, died Thursday, January 31, 2002 at his residence, following a sudden illness.

H was born September 20, 1934 in Lorain. He had lived in Elyria for 20 years until 1987, before moving back to Lorain for 3 years. He returned to Fremont in 1999.

He was employed at Lear Romec Corp., Elyria as a machine operator for 6 years retiring in 1996. Prior to that he worked at Stanadine in Elyria. James enjoyed fishing and boating.

He is survived by his wife Helen (nee Lacock), parents: Peter and Mae (nee Malinowski), of Lorain, sons: Dennis Jessel, Blaine Lacock, both of Lorain, Howard Lacock of Elyria, Jeff Lacock, of Amherst and Jerry Lacock of Wellington, daughters Nancy Jessel, Carol Kolcun, JoAnn Harris, all of Lorain, Kimberly Pasek of Westlake, and Tammy Nichols of South Amherst, 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, brother: John Jessel, of Birmingham, Ohio.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 3, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 in the Dovin Funeral Home 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Friends may also call on Monday, February 4, 2002 from 9:30 a.m. at St. Stanisluas Catholic Church, Elyria Avenue at E. 28th Street, Lorain, until the time of funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. Kevin Shemuga, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
