Anna Bodde, 87, Rosary Society Member
Anna Bodde (nee Zbin) of Norwalk died Friday afternoon at EMH Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Born on March 30, 1914, she had lived in Vermilion most of her life. She had lived in Norwalk at the Carriage house and had also lived in Lakewood and Fairview Park.She was a member of the Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Vermilion Golden Agers and the Aurl Club. She also enjoyed gardening, playing cards and bingo.
She is survived by her children, Bernard Bodde of Cape Cod, MA, Janet Leano of Elyria, Ohio, William Bodde of Huron, Ohio, Martha Marriott of Ocala, FL, and Martin Bodde of Shippensburg, PA; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Josephine Gregg of Vermilion and Mary LaLonda of Carson, CA; brothers, Emil and Albert Zbin of Lakewood, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Bodde in 1971, a sister, Margaret Rutowski and a brother, Paul Zbin.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral HOme, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Prayers will be said on Tuesday at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
