Donald C. Kody, 66, Renowned Violinist
Donald C. Kody, 66 of Lorain died on Friday, February 8, 2002 in Lorain, Oh at his home following a long illness.Mr. Kody was born February 11, 1935 in Lorain, OH and was a lifelong resident of Lorain. He was a 1953 graduate of Lorain High School. He received a bachelor's degree from the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University and a Master's Degree from Akron University. He was a member of the Family Fellowship Foursquare Church in Amherst.
Mr. Kody was a renowned violinist, performing for more than 20 years with the Ohio Chamber Orchestra, the Cleveland Opera Company and the Cleveland Ballet. He also played for many occasions in are churches, at local colleges, weddings and other area events.
He was retired from the Lorain City Schools as 4th grade and music teacher at Mason Elementary School with 25 years service to education. His hobbies and interests include chess, racquetball, boating, skiing, slot car racing and electronic gadgets.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Caliope "Cal" Kody (nee Goumas), his two sons, James N. Kody of Lorain, and Scott C. Kody of North Olmsted, and 3 grandchildren.
Mr. Kody was preceded in death by his parents: Charles A and Elizabeth (nee Lengyel) Kody, and his brother Raymond Kody.

Funeral services will be held on February 12, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Family Fellowship Foursquare Church, 780 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH with Rev. William Mouer, pastor officiating.
Donald will be buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain, OH.
